ALTON, VA. Mr. Jimmie Frances Rogers, Sr. of 3115 Cedar Grove Road, Alton, VA died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the age of 64.He was born in Halifax County, VA on October 10, 1950 to Frances Love Rogers and Maggie Jones Rogers.He was married to Rhonda Gillogly Rogers.Mr. Rogers was a member of Alton Baptist Church and was a retired tree service employee. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Gillogly Rogers; a son, Jimmie F. Rogers, Jr. of Halifax, VA; five daughters, Denise Jones of Alton, VA, Jennifer Rogers of Alton, Pandi Snead and husband John of Virgilina, Va, April Altman and husband Sammy of Nathalie, Va and Mealie Sulter and husband Shawn of Alton, Va.; nine grandchildren; and devoted friends, Chris Elliott, Willie Jones, and Lisa Rogers. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Bonnie Pizzeck officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service and at other times at the home.
