Bracey, VA - Jimmy Roy Hitson, husband of Bonnie Chinault Hitson, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the age of 73. He was born in Madisonville, TN on October 4, 1945 to the late Roy Abernathy & Mallie Lorene Wayman Hitson. Jim served a combined13 years in the United States Navy and Reserves, where he was a military photographer. He worked with AkzoNobel in sales and service for 40 years. Jim was a dedicated father and grandfather who enjoyed watersports. He had a talent for fixing things and loved sharing that talent with others. Jim’s true passion was his love for Christ and his church. He was a devoted member of Olive Branch Baptist Church in Blackridge, VA. There he served as a Deacon Emeritus and played a vital role in the Church. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Bonnie; sons Ryan Hitson of Lake Gaston and Kevin Jones (Kristy) of Lynchburg; daughter Melissa H. Bierley of Madisonville, TN; and five grandchildren Emmerson, Keenan, Parker, Blake and Devin. Jim is also survived by his sister-in-law Dianne Chinault, brother-in-law Kenny Chinault (Penny) and many loving and caring nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Keenan Jones and by siblings Bill Hitson and Shirley Kirkland. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Olive Branch Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Wayne Guynn and Reverend Brandon Minter officiating.
