Jimmy Carlton Nunn

Jimmy Carlton Nunn, husband of Rebecca "Becky" Loftis Nunn, died Monday night Dec. 23, 2013 in the Halifax Regional Hospital. Jimmy was the son of the late Herbert and Etta Pool Nunn and was a lifelong resident of Aarons Creek. He was a member of the Aarons Creek Baptist church where he taught the Youth Sunday School class for 58 years. His life was spent in construction working first for his father as a working foreman who also ran a motor grader at H.A. Nunn Construction from age 15 until age 40. He then worked for Adams Construction until 1988 and Bishop & Settle Construction until 1994. He finished his career with Key Construction where he was a Superintendent until his retirement in 2010. Funeral services will be conducted Friday Dec. 27 at 11:00 A.M. in the Aarons Creek Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Reverend Joe McDowell, pastor. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter Sherri Gary Simon of Greensboro, NC, sons Christopher Renee Nunn and Bryan Nunn both of Virgilina, sisters Carolyn Ed Murphy of Virgilina and Linda Fryar of Mebane, NC, brothers Aubrey Marjorie Nunn of Virgilina, William S.Betty Nunn of Clarksville, Lawrence Kay Nunn & Glenn Barbara Nunn both of Virgilina, Grandchildren Amanda Trivett, Jennifer Nunn, Chelsey Montague, Noah Simon & Jonah Simon, and 5 great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by a sister Annette Tysinger. The family will receive friends anytime on Thursday Dec. 26 at their residence.
