Joan Elizabeth "Beth" Cole Laitkep

Mrs. Joan Elizabeth “Beth” Cole Laitkep of Virgilina, VA passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the age of 39. Beth was born in Halifax Co., VA on January 19, 1977 the daughter of Hudson Delano Cole and the late Joan Crews Cole. Beth was a 1995 graduate of Halifax County Senior High School. Beth loved an adventure and moved to Texas ten years ago. She returned to her hometown a year ago to be close to her family and friends. Beth is survived by her greatest joys, Will, Selena, Jaxon, Dallas, Lily, and Ace; father, Hudson D. Cole of Nathalie, VA; sisters, Cathy Link of Crystal Hill, VA, Susan Wilborn of South Boston, VA, and Jeni Binner of South Boston, VA; and brothers, Michael Cole of Waverly, VA and Barry Thompson of Virgilina, VA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 2:00 PM at North Fork Baptist Church with the Reverend Doug Ballew officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at North Fork Baptist Church on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Halifax Co.
