Joann Heald Allen

JoAnn Heald Allen, wife of the late Edward William Allen, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the age of 91. She was born on July 1, 1931, in Anniston, AL to the late Robert Franklin Heald and the late Theo Ruth Morrow Heald. JoAnn worked as a Director of Nursing in New Jersey before she and her husband retired to the Red Oak, VA community. Still eager to continue her profession of caring, she continued her career at Woodview Nursing Home in South Boston. In her spare time, JoAnn enjoyed crafting and won numerous county fair awards for her latch hook rugs. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors are her sons, Robert William Allen and his wife, Elizabeth, of Beaverton, OR and Thomas Edward Allen and wife, Sherrie, of Red Oak, VA. In addition to her husband and parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by a sister, Theo Jean Heald.

Services for JoAnn Allen will be private.
