Joann Jones Brankley

Clarksville, VA - JoAnn Jones Brankley, age 85, widow of Willie Lee “Bill” Brankley, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016.Mrs. Brankley was born on August 6, 1931 in Bee, VA to the late Julia Ratliff Jones and the late Horace H. Jones.She was employed by Mecklenburg County Public Schools and then worked at Mecklenburg Correctional Center as a nutrition specialist.JoAnn was a member of Ephesus United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brankley is survived by sons, Lee Brankley of Chase City and Donald H. Brankley of Clarksville and daughters, Rose Ann Brankley of Richmond and Mary Lucille Driggs and her husband, Randy, of Baskerville.She is also survived by her brother, Thomas H. Jones of Richmond; sister, Pauline Jacobson of Florida, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 24th and Tuesday, October 25th from 4 - 6 pm at the home of Lee Brankley.A memorial service for JoAnn Jones Brankley will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Ephesus United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.The Reverends Randy Baisey and Pat Nielson will officiate.A reception will be held at the church following the service.
