Joanne Carol Boyle

Joanne Carol Walczak-Matre Boyle of Clarksville, VA, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023, at the age of 86. Born in Buffalo, New York on November 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph Walczak and the late Virginia Kacymarek Walczak-Matre. Joanne was married for 65 beautiful years to Jerome “Jerry” Boyle, who survives. In addition to keeping a lovely home and raising five children, she was active in her beloved church, St. Catherine’s, and in her community. Joanne served as Past President of the Pastoral Council, was a member of the choir and craft group and served as a money counter for the church. She made quilts, blankets, and stuffed animals for families and to raise money for the church. Joanne also was a past member of the Clarksville Ruritans Club.
Cherishing her memory are her husband, Jerry; children, Kathy Widlak, Doreen Zuch (Paul), Dennis Boyle (Debra), Lynne Howell (Jeff) and Christopher Boyle (Michelle); seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a sister Christine Kole (Don). Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, John Walczak, Donald Walczak, Thomas Matre and Richard Matre.
A Friday morning mass will be heard on February 24 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Clarksville, VA. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
