John Blackwell Jb Riggan

John Blackwell "JB" Riggan, 92, widower of Wilma Blanks Riggan, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Community Memorial Healthcenter in South Hill. JB was born June 10, 1920 in Granville County, NC to the late George Washington and Lillian Blackwell Riggan. He was employed with Burlington Industries for many years and then with J.P. Stevens until his retirement. Funeral services will be 4PM Friday at Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle with Reverend Dr. William Weeks and Reverend Dr. David Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Riggan is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Burnice Coghill of Crewe; grandchildren, Jennifer West, Greg Coghill, Brian Coghill, and Tammie Raiford and ten great grandchildren. His sister, Alice Bowen of Virgilina and brother, William Riggan of Buffalo Junction also survive. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Riggan and granddaughter, Kim Riggan. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church starting at 3P.M.
