John Robert Cole

Mr. John Robert Cole of 712 Spring Street, Darlington, SC, died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the age of 77. He was born in Halifax County on March 8, 1933 to the late Charles Spencer Cole and the late Sophronia Lowery Cole and was married to Angel Duncan Cole. He was a retired tobacco buyer for American Tobacco Company and a veteran of the U. S. Army,Korean Conflict Survivors include his wife, Angel Duncan Cole of Darlington, SC; one brother, Thurman R. Cole of South Hill, Va; two sisters, Louise C. Jones and Peggy C. Burton both of South Boston, VA; his God daughter, Bethany Bryant Eaddy, and by two God grandchildren, Cole Eaddy and Copeland Eaddy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bryant "C. B." Cole and sister, Willsie C. Francis. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 11 AM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Gorman officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Monday night from 7 until 8:30 and at other times at the home of George and Peggy Burton, 414 Merritt Street, South Boston, VA. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Darlington, SC, with visitation following the service.
