John Wade Glasscock

SOUTH BOSTON Mr. John Wade “J.W.” Glasscock, Sr. passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at the age of 46.Born in Halifax County on November 27, 1971, he was the son of John Herbert Glasscock and the late Betty Jane Stembridge Glasscock. J.W. was of the Baptist faith and a former member of the Midway Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Glasscock and friend, Mark Owen; son, John Wade Glasscock, Jr.; step daughters, Amanda Williams and husband, Tommy, and Jessica Humphries; step son, J.W. Rutherford; sisters, Janice Glasscock and friend, Sheila Blanks, Lisa Fitts and husband, Danny; brother, Michael Glasscock and wife Angie; grandchildren, Cadence Williams, Mallory and Gunner Humphries and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for John Wade Glasscock, Sr. will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with Reverend Todd McClure officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Thursday, January 25 from 1:00-2:00 PM and other times the home of his sister, Lisa and Danny Fitts, 3092 Mt. Carmel Road, Alton, VA.
