John Herbert Glasscock

Mr. John Herbert Glasscock of South Boston, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the age of 77. Born in Halifax County on December 7, 1942, he was the son of the late Rufus Howard Glasscock and the late Sue Myrtle Glasscock. He was married to the late Betty Stembridge Glasscock. John was a retired painter, electrician, and farmer. He is survived by his children, Lisa Fitts and husband, Danny of Alton, Janice Glasscock of Halifax, and Michael Glasscock and wife, Angie of Virgilina; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Ann Waskey, Alice Tuck and husband, Buck, Carolyn Winstead, and Carrie Lee Haley; and numerous other family members. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Howard Glasscock, Jr. and his son, John Wade Glasscock. Funeral services for Mr. Glasscock will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 12 Noon at The Worship Center with the Reverend Ricky Whitlow officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 7 from 7:00PM until 8:30PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
