John Marshall Wilmoth

John Marshall Wilmoth, Jr., the son of John and Dorothy Wilmoth died December 11, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Delilah and his father John M. Wilmoth, Sr.. John Marshall is survived by his mother, Dorothy Wilmoth; three siblings, Eileen Thatcher, Linda Wilmoth, and Wayne Wilmoth; three children, Michael Wilmoth, daughter-in-law, Angela Wilmoth, daughters, Cristie Carter and Carrie Briscoe-Peeden and son-in-law, Geoffrey Peeden; nine grandchildren, Brian and Decker, children of Michael, Joshua, Zachary, Sidney, and Gracie, children of Cristie, Courtney, Bailey, and Kelsey, children of Carrie; one great grandchild, Jaxxon; and two nephews, Will and John Clay. John Marshall is also survived by by an aunt, Blanche Bare of Ft. Payne, AL and an uncle, Roger Buchanan of Monroe, VA. John Marshall honorably served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He enjoyed his time with family and CB-ing. Memorial services will held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 2 PM at Brooks Funeral Home in South Boston, VA. The family will receive friends and neighbors at his mothers home after the service.
