John Wesley Morningstar, Jr.

John Wesley Morningstar, 91, of Buffalo Junction, died peacefully on May 5, 2013. Junior was born November 8, 1921 in Halifax County to John Wesley Morningstar, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Tuck. A life-long farmer, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie R. Morningstar, a son, John Wesley Morningstar, III; and three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by two sons, Charles Morningstar Donna and Willard Jerry Morningstar Arlene. His sister, Margie M. Meeler Watt of Durham, NC; grandchildren, David Morningstar, Martha Harrington, Tawny Deal, John Morningstar, IV, George Morningstar and Alex Morningstar; great-grandchildren, Sarah Harrington, Noah Morningstar, Camrin Morton, Landon Deal and Graysen Deal; and nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Jim McAlister officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, starting at 1PM.
