John "Johnny" Webster Bowden, Jr. 59, of Clarksville, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at his home. He was born September 27, 1953 to the late John Webster Bowden, Sr. and Barbara Huff Fox of Roxboro, NC. Johnny was a graduate of Bluestone High School and of Southside Virginia Community College where he obtained a degree in Business. He was formerly employed with Burlington Industries as a supervisor at their Kinderton Distribution Center. In addition to his mother and step-father, Fred H. Fox, Sr., Johnny is survived by his life-partner, Laura Maginnis, formerly of Holland, MI. His children, John W. Bowden, III of Axton; Lisa C. Bowden of Julian, NC; Joseph A. Bowden of Axton; and Kara E. Bowden of Savannah, GA; step-children, Scott Maginnis and Michelle Maginnis, both of Holland, MI; sisters, Joan Bowden Pittard of Buffalo Junction and Phyllis Bowden Slonaker and her husband David of Richmond; six grandchildren and one niece also survive. Johnny is also survived by a special friend, Patty Emaus of Jenison, MI and many caring friends. Funeral services will be 2PM Tuesday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon with the Reverend Rodney Barwick officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery.
