ALTON, VA Mr. Johnnie Lee Collie, Srof Alton, VA died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the age of 80.He was born in Milton, NC on November 16, 1935 to the late Wayman Taylor Collie and Florence Vernon Collie and was married to Virginia “Teeny” Collie.Johnnie was retired from ABB as a mechanic and was a veteran of the National Guard. Mr. Collie is survived by his wife, “Teeny”; a daughter, Gail Meador and husband Randy of Blacksburg; sons, Dwayne Collie and wife, Mary Jane of Halifax, Johnnie Collie, Jrand wife, Rebecca of Mechanicsville; sister, Nancy Hatcher of South Boston; brothers, Carroll Collie, Donnie Collie, and Ronnie Collie, all of Turbeville; and 6 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home with Reverend Jane Lyon officiating.The family will receive friends after the service until 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Turberville Volunteer Fire Department, 1002 Melon Rd., South Boston, VA 24592 or the Halifax County Humane Society, PO Box 969, South Boston, VA 24592.
