Joseph Ronald Blackburn

Joseph Ronald Blackburn of Monument, CO passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the age of 84. He was born in New York on January 29, 1938 to the late Joseph Blackburn and Ruth McCretty Blackburn.He was married to Carolyn Chewning, who survives. Joseph was born in New York to Irish immigrant parents. He lived in Washington, DC most of his life, having received a bachelors degree in economics from American University in Washington, DC and moved to Colorado in 2001.He was a utility consultant. His hobbies were playing table tennis and he loved to tinker in his shop and gardening. He also was a stock market enthusiast since he was 16. Joseph is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, Will Blackburn and wife, Lisa of Colorado Springs; sister-in-law, Patricia Huff and a grandson, Brandon Blackburn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Ekstrom. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Oakhurst Cemetery with Reverend Rich Henderson officiating.
