Joseph Headlee Crute

CLARKSVILLE, VA Mr. Joseph “Joe” Headlee Crute passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the age of 79.He was born in Nelson, VA on November 18, 1939 to the late Charles P. Crute and the late Virginia Puryear Crute and was married to Juanita Broughman Crute. Joe was retired from Burlington Industries as a supervisor for 39 years.He loved golf, spending time with his friends, a good salad and attending games.He was a past deacon and always very involved in his church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Tony Crute and wife, Cindy of Midlothian, VA and Steve Crute and wife, Amy of Archer Lodge, NC; daughters, Theresa Griles and husband, John of Red Oak, VA and Sherry Collier and husband, Gary of Wylliesburg, VA; grandchildren, Kasey Crute, Joseph Crute, Jacob Crute, Jackson Crute and Brittany Griles; brothers, George Crute and wife, Bobbi Sue of Nelson, VA and CP Crute and wife, Elenor of South Boston, VA; and sister, Virginia Ruth of Connecticut. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathlean Newton Crute; and brothers, Bo Crute and James Taughty Crute. Funeral services for Mr. Crute will be held at Nelson Baptist Church on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Reverends Denis Fritz, Don Wilson, and Jim McAllistor officiating. Interment will follow at Nelson Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home from 6 PM – 8 PM and other times at the home, 1156 Noblin Farm Road, Clarksville, VA.
