Josephine Cassada

June 30, 1930 — July 24, 2023

Josephine Cassada of Longs, South Carolina passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the age of 93.  She was born on June 30, 1930 in Semora, North Carolina to the late Joseph and Sallie Matlock Jones.

She spent most of her life in Caswell County. She retired early from Dan River Mills to take care of her aging parents. A member of Red House Presbyterian Church in Semora, NC, she played piano and sang in the choir for many years.  In 2019, due to medical reasons she relocated to live with her daughter in Danville, VA and in 2020 they both moved to South Carolina.  She spent her final years enjoying time with her family and her dog, Rico.

Josephine is survived by a daughter, Patricia C. Jackson of Longs, South Carolina; son, Tommy Cassada (Robin) of Reidsville, NC; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joel B. Cassada of South Boston; brother-in-law, Sticky Burch of Greensboro, NC and a sister, Mary Burch of Greensboro, NC.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Red House Presbyterian Church in Semora, NC with Reverend Stan Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
