Joshua Kyle Wells

June 15, 2000 — January 16, 2023

Joshua Kyle Wells, 22, left us on January 16, 2023. Josh was raised in Clarksville and later moved to Danville where he played football and graduated with honors from Tunstall High School. After graduation, Josh continued his education at WVU before returning to work in the family business, Clarksville Watersports. Josh lived with the love of his life, Kayla James, and their dogs, Bella and Clover, as well as his pig, Charlotte. Josh spent his days working and his free time cooking and spending time with family, Shawna and Peyton James, and best friend, Ricky. Josh is preceded in death by his pop, Paul Rice. He is survived by his parents, Patrick Rice and Emma Wells; stepparents, Ray Long and Tammy Anderson, and grand parents Belcher and Jackie Wells and Patsy Rice. Josh was an amazing brother and role model to Matthew Wells, Vanessa Long, Mary Long, George Long, CW Smith, and Amber Rogers. Josh was an amazing uncle and godfather to his nieces and nephew, AJ, Gracie and Lucas. Josh was loved and admired by his aunts, uncles, and cousins who he mentored. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Tunstall Football program and the SPCA.
