Josie "Jo" Moorefield Davis

Ms. Josie “Jo” Moorefield Davis of 1012 Whitlow Trail, South Boston, died on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. She was born on October 23 to the late Willie Thomas Moorefield and the late Allie Moorefield. She was retired from Presto Products Co., and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and she attended Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy D. Hill and husband, Bill of South Boston, VA, Sheila D. Henry and husband, Stephan of North Scituate, RI, Krista D. Conner and husband, Tony of South Boston, VA; two sons, Phil R. Davis of South Boston, VA and Marty J. David and wife, Amy of Clintwood, VA; one sister, Dorothy Conner of Mt. Laural, VA; six grandsons, Jeff Hill and wife, Kelly, Nathan Henry, Sean Davis, Travis Whitt, Chase Conner, and Zachary Davis; five granddaughters, Jennifer Laughorn and husband, Craig, Sarah Henry, Meagan F. Smith and husband, Jimmy, Emily Conner and Allie Conner; four great grandchildren, Sarah Laughorn, Caroline Laughorn, Abby Hill and Noah Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Tammy Fitch, two brothers, Eric "Brud" Moorefield and Willie T. Moorefield, two sisters, Martha Moorefield and Lena M. Davis, and the father of her children, Walter Albert Davis. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Don Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 7 until 8:30 PM, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Nancy Hill, 105 Duncan Ct., South Boston.
