Joyce Ann Conner Hernandez

Ms. Joyce Ann Conner Hernandez of South Boston died Friday, August 13, 2010 at the age of 68. She was born in Halifax County on August 31, 1941 to the late Lewis Mayfield Conner and the late Nannie Faulkner Conner. Ms. Hernandez was a retired medical transcriptionist at Halifax Regional Hospital and was a member of the South Boston Church of God. She is survived by three sons, Charles Andrew "Chuck" McLamb and wife, Susan Bates McLamb of Vernon Hill, Robert Wayne Richardson of Richmond, and Christopher Shawn Rech of Cleveland, OH; two grandchildren, Sidney E. McLamb and Jacob A. McLamb, both of Vernon Hill; a sister, Rosalie Conner Perkins of South Boston; and two brothers, William C. Conner and wife, Hazel of Bay City, TX and Robert D. "Buck" Conner and wife, Doris of South Boston. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Owen M. Conner and wife, Earlene, Roy L. Conner and wife, Kathleen, and Raymond A. Conner and wife, Judy. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the South Boston Church of God with Rev. Rick Stigile officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Walnut Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Sunday night from 7 until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Chuck and Susan McLamb, 4038 Asbury Church Rd., Vernon Hill, VA.
