Joyce Ann Murray Hodnett

Joyce Ann Murray Hodnett, age 81, of South Boston, VA, passed away on Thursday, March 7th, 2024. She was born on Sunday, April 12th, 1942 to the late Alonzo Simpson Murray and Louise Murray.

Joyce was a dedicated real estate loan officer for many years. She had a passion for baking, gardening, and attending her son Kevin's sporting events, especially golf tournaments. Joyce had a strong faith in Jesus that guided her throughout her life and was a member of Union Christian Church.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Stover Haskins; brother, Len Murray (Jan); as well as several nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister in law, Bobby Lee Murray and Joyce Lee Murray.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 10th in the chapel at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before. Burial will follow at Virgilina Cemetery. The Reverend Jack Stewart will officiate the service.

Joyce will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
