Joyce Jones Pharr

Joyce “Cookie” Jones Pharr, wife of the late Arthur Leonard Pharr, Sr., passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the age of 79. Born in Mecklenburg County on October 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late James Gregory Jones and Eura Chewning Jones. Cookie was a 1960 graduate of Bluestone High School and worked for many years at the telephone company. She also worked with the newspaper, Crowder Construction and Jones Construction. In her spare time, Cookie enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and was a longtime volunteer with the Clarksville Ruritans. She was a member of Ephesus United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Leonard Pharr, Jr. (Debbie), Allan Pharr (Ashley), Randy Pharr (Diane) and Jonathan Pharr(Brandyn); grandchildren, Barbara, Ashley, Zachary, Gregory, Hunter, Alekzander and Christopher and great grandchildren, Krista and McKenzie. She was preceded in death by siblings, Gregory Jones, J. Lawson Jones, Alfred Jones, W. Lawrence Jones and Hattie Jones Smith; and a grandson, Leonard Pharr, III.

The family will hold private services.
