Juanita Lacks Duffer

CLOVER Mrs. Juanita Lacks Duffer passed away at her residence on Monday, September 14, 2020 at the age of 77. Born in Halifax County on February 11, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Winston and Lottie Lacks and was married to Thomas “Tommy” Duffer. Juanita loved gardening, canning, bowling, fishing and cooking for her family every Sunday. In addition to her husband, Tommy, she is survived by a daughter, Barbara Nichols and husband, Jimmy; sons, T.L. Duffer and wife, Sandra; Bucky Duffer and wife, Amy; brother, Howard B. Lacks; sisters, Helen Baroody and Sarah Catherine Smith and husband, William; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Red Level Independent Church of God, 2055 Red Level Church Road, Scottsburg, VA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 7:00-8:30 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at the home.
