Judie Garland Elder

Judie Garland Elder of Clarksville, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at the age of 50. She was born in South Boston, VA, on August 8, 1970, to the late George Garland Thames and Faye Elder Thames, who survives. Judie worked with Sentara as a phlebotomist. She enjoyed singing, her passion was cooking, and dearly loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered for her kind generosity to others. Judie attended The House of Prayer. In addition to her mother, Judie is survived by her brother, Jamie Elder (Angie) and sister, Roberta Harmon (Tony). She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jacob, Adam, Ava, Thomas, Samantha and great nephews, Jacob, Jr., Christian and Jesse. There will be an open visitation for Judie on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 11 am to 6 pm at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Oakhurst Cemetery with the Reverend Lucas Glasscock and Pastor Charles Davidson officiating.
