Judith "Judy" Rice Whitlow

Judith “Judy” Rice Whitlow of Buffalo Junction, VA passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2024
while surrounded by her family.  She was born on February 12th, 1947 to Robert Kent Rice, Sr. and Lonie Wilkins Rice of Nelson, VA.

She was preceded in death by her sister Betsy Rice Loftis, her brother Robert “Robbie” Rice, Jr.,
and her first husband Henry Paquin. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of
32 years Steve Whitlow, her daughter Jennifer Paquin Tuck (Keith), her step-daughter Veronica
Whitlow Quinley (Todd), and her grandchildren Abigail Tuck, Madison Tuck, and Cole Quinley.

Judy served as a payroll clerk for Mecklenburg County Public Schools for over 30 years before
retiring in 2003. She was a devoted member of Averett Baptist Church, where she shared her
love of Christ through music and fellowship. She found joy in trying new recipes and sharing
her creations with her family and friends. During her retirement, Judy could often be found
outside watching the hummingbirds fly by with her husband. She also devoted much of her time
to being a loving “Nannie” to her grandchildren, and she never missed an opportunity to watch
them grow or encourage them to flourish.

Visitation will be held at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Sunday, July 14th from 6:30-
8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at Averett Baptist Church on Monday, July 15th at
3:00 pm. The family invites those who’d like to celebrate in the life of a woman who was deeply
loved and will be dearly missed to join them.
