Julia Blanks Whitmire

Mrs. Julia Blanks Whitmire, 78, wife of Lewis Edwin Whitmire, died Sunday, November 13, 2005 in South Boston. Born and reared in Clarksville, Julia was the daughter of Charles Watkins and Rosebud Winn Blanks. Graduating with the Clarksville High School class of 1945, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Clarksville for 21 years, retiring in 1965. Graveside services will be 2PM Wednesday in Oakhurst Cemetery with Reverend Henry Lovelace officiating. In addition to her husband of 57 years, Julia is survived by her sister, Marjorie Boyd of Clarksville; brother, Charles W. Blanks, Jr. of Henderson, NC; and one niece and nephew. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Tuesday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
