Julie “Jules” Elisabeth Aiken, 38 years, of Bullock, NC passed away on
Wednesday, May 29th, 2024. Born in Weston, WV on January 13, 1986, she was
the beloved daughter of Douglas P. and Dianna Kemper Jones, who survive. Julie
was a devoted mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She loved Hayden and Karsyn
fiercely, with her whole heart, they were her pride and joy. Some would even say
that they were the love of her life.
Julie pursued a nursing degree, where she later worked as a Licensed Practical
Nurse for several nursing homes and hospitals. She excelled in her field and was
cherished by all of her patients. Despite the hardships Julie endeavored, she was
known for her contagious smile, sense of humor, and her quick wit. Throughout
Julie’s childhood, she developed many different interests including showing cattle
at the national level, gymnastics, and cheerleading. A compassionate and
thoughtful person, Julie felt great joy in helping people. She was often found
spending time with her children, nieces, and nephews.
Julie is survived by her children, Hayden Morton and Karsyn Morton of Bullock,
NC; sisters, Jennifer Jackson (Tyler) of Henderson, NC and Christie Patterson
(Daniel) of Bullock, NC; brother, Samuel Jones (Amber) of Bullock, NC; nieces
and nephews, Dawson Patterson, Haley Patterson, Kayleigh Patterson, Chloe
Jackson, Sophie Jackson, and Emma Jones.
A celebration of Julie’s life is planned for Tuesday, June 4, 2024 with the service
beginning at 2:00 PM at Nelson Baptist Church, 1837 Nelson Church Road,
Nelson, VA 24580. A graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.
Reverend John “Bo” Bohannon, Reverend Ian Rigney and Reverend Michael Alex Finley will officiate the service.
