Karen Denise (KareBear) Moody died in a motorcycle accident on November 20, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida. Karen was born November 9, 1973 in Orlando, Florida. She was the daughter of James H. and Joyce A Moody. Karen loved life, the Lord, her family, friends, camping and motorcycles. She received her B.S. degree in Computer Technology from ITT University. She worked as a Recruiting Specialist for Staffing Pros, a Division of her family-owned Veterans Enterprise Technology Solutions (VETS), Inc. Karen is survived by her father and step-mother, James Moody and Mona Moody; her daughter, Katie Moody; her sons Morgan Moody and Thomas Kruse; granddaughter, Isabelle Moody; half-sister, Leah Benton and brother-in-law Arnold Benton; half-sister, Kitty Koechlin and brother-in-law Michael Koechlin; and half-brothers Fred Acevedo and Nick Acevedo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Moody; her grandmother, Helen Moody; and grandmother, Gladys Warren. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Hardage Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida starting at 1:00 Pm on Saturday, 14 December 2019. Pastor Macky Pittman will serve as officiant. A memorial service will also be held at a later to be determined date in Clarksville, VA. Friends will gather for a remembrance celebration beginning at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Dick’s Wings at 6055 Youngerman Circle in Orange Park, Florida. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Karen D. Moody Memorial Fund at Navy Federal Credit Union or to Abate Florida motorcycle safety fund at www.lake.abateflorida.com. Checks may also be mailed to 113 Dan Circle, Clarksville VA 23927. HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERSIDE MEMORIAL PARK AND FUNERAL HOME, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205, is serving the family.
