Virgilina, VA Mrs. Katherine Pruitt Elliott of Virgilina, VA died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the age of 71. She was born in Caswell Co., NC on May 2, 1943 to the late Thomas Lester Pruitt and the late Sarah Anna Jones Pruitt and was married to the late Thomas "Tom" Elliott. Mrs. Elliott was a member of McGhees Mill Baptist Church. She loved her time out in the garden, canning, being outside and a good meal out. She enjoyed family gatherings, going places and loved vacations. She is survived by her children, Glenda Elliott of South Boston, Fred Elliott of Virgilina, Loretta Elliott of Virgilina, Michael Elliott and wife, Joanne of South Boston, Amy Elliott of Virgilina, Arlene Campbell of South Boston, Sarah Ingram of Alton, and Wilma E. Vaughan of Virgilina; a sister, Lillie Montague and husband, Johnnie of Roxboro, NC; a brother, Paul Pruitt of Apex, NC; sixteen grandchildren, two step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, David Pruitt, Thomas Pruitt, and Hershey Ray Pruitt, and grandchildren, Shana Ingram and William Powell. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Aarons Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
