Kathryn Keatts Tatem

HALIFAX - Mrs. Kathryn Keatts Tatem of Halifax died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the age of 38. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on December 29, 1977 to the late Jerry Allen Keatts and the late Dale Martin Keatts and was married to Thomas E. Tatem. Kathryn loved her children, her toy poodle, Ariel and all of her other animals. She was a very enthusiastic volunteer for Do Something in Halifax, the ministry for the homeless in Halifax County. Mrs. Tatem is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Tatem; daughters, Samantha Ann Keatts and special friend, Nathan Holofchak and Blair Danelle Clay; son, Bryce Dale Clay; granddaughter, Addyson Marie Holofchak; sisters, Julie Keatts Akyar and husband, George and Annette Keatts Duffer and husband, Raymond; grandmother, Carolyn Palmer Keatts; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Black Walnut Baptist Church with the Reverend Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Friday from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Annette and Raymond Duffer, 5001 Volens Rd., Nathalie.
