Kathy Shearin

Kathy Shearin of Roxboro, NC and formerly of South Boston passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the age of 68.  She was born in Halifax County on June 24, 1955 to the late Ernest Shearin and Frances Robertson Shearin.

Kathy was a respiratory therapist for 35 years at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, after leaving the hospital she worked with Lincare as a health care specialist and loved her work in helping others.  She enjoyed cross stitching and fishing when she was able.  Kathy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her children, Darrel Carver and Dwayne Carver (Gerald Fields) and grandchildren, Leah Carver and Grayson Carver and a cousin, Patricia Holt.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings, Charlie Shearin and Gaye Clay.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jack Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1 PM - 2 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
