Keith Martin

Goldsboro, NC Tech Seargent Keith W. Martin of the United States Air Force passed away February 27, 2019 at the age of 38.He was born in Halifax County on December 9, 1980 and was the son of H. Kenneth Martin and Shirley Martin Moorefield.He was the grandson of the late Herbert and Lucille Martin of Volens, Virginia and the late Elizabeth Dunford and Berkley Wade. Keith grew up in Halifax, Virginia and was a graduate of HCHS, Class of 1998.He had almost completed 20 years in the United States Air Force before his death and was stationed in Germany, Alabama, and North Carolina.He was a beloved son, brother, friend, and devoted father.He loved his children fiercely and cheered them both on and off the sports field.He enjoyed hiking – the Appalachian Trail was a favorite- golfing, playing baseball, and making people laugh.He was an enormous Virginia Tech Hokies fan. He is survived by his daughter, Brianna Martin of Goldsboro, NC, and his two sons, Cameron Martin and Aric Martin of Goldsboro, NC, and their mother Sarah Martin of Goldsboro, NC; his parents, Kenneth Martin of Halifax, VA and Shirley and Danny Moorefield of Nathalie VA; his sisters, Melanie Perkins of South Boston, VA and Teah Bayless of Raleigh, NC and their families; and special friends , Ed and Sharon Harris of Greensboro, NC; and stepbrothers, Michael Moorefield and Thom Moorefield. Funeral services for Keith will be on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2pm at Falling River Baptist Church in Brookneal, Virginia.Visitation will be at the Brooks-Lyon Funeral Home on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 6:30pm.All are welcome.
