Kenneth Lewis Canada of South Boston passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. He was born in Halifax County on October 3, 1946 to Louis Canada and Lanier Powell Canada. He is survived by his wife, Susan Powell Canada.
Kenneth worked for over 30 years at JP Stevens and then worked with R.O. Harrell Trucking as a driver until his retirement. He loved fishing and showed Tennessee Walking Horses for many years. His favorite past time was the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Powell Canada; children, Stephanie Fallen (Reece) and Kristy Matthews (Scott); grandchildren, Jessica Nichols (John), Katie Wilkins (Adam), Morgan Dickerson (Dane), Mason Bowen (Sidney), and Patrick Fallen; great grandchildren, McKennon Crute, Kenley Crute, Braxton Nichols, Charlie Nichols, Graylee Wilkins, Harper Wilkins, and Lyle Dickerson; siblings, Elna Rudder, Danny Canada (Diane) and Mike Canada; nieces & nephews and special friends, Bobby Terry, Riley Hite, Steve Hughes, and Wayne Baylous. The family would like to give a special thank you to his caregiver, Allie Powell and his nurse Kelly Smithnosky, for their compassion and caring.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Canada and a special friend, Jimmy Glass.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ian Rigney officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at the home.
