Mr. Kenneth Lewis Compton passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the age of 74.He was born in Newport News, VA on April 3, 1944 to the late Floyd Lewis Compton and the late Beatrice Thompson Compton. He was married to Diana Lee Compton who survives. Kenneth was a graduate of Halifax County High School, class of 1962.He was a member of Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church but faithfully attended Mt. Cana United Methodist Church. He was a car enthusiast and loved going to car shows. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Diana; sister, Patricia Compton Nichols and husband, Wayne; daughters, Leigh Ann Compton Reaves and husband, Brian and Angela Grimm; son, Bucky Compton; grandchildren, Brandon Reaves, Victoria Reaves, Jeremy Reaves, Amanda Drumheller, Heather Turner (Jeremy), and Natalie Grimm; great grandchildren, Maci Colvin, Jaxon Colvin, Oaklynn Turner, and Lillie Turner; his honorary brother, Tommy Downey; and his beloved dog, “ Big Boy” and numerous extended family. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by toddler sister Evelyn Talitha Compton and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel at 2:00 PM with Reverend Leigh Felton officiating. The burial will follow in Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 7:00-8:30 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at the home, 9011 Bill Tuck Hwy., Virgilina.
