Kenneth Calvin Owen

Mr. Kenneth Calvin Owen of 3141 Thompson Store Rd., Vernon Hill, VA died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the age of 69. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on May 3, 1943 to the late Willie Fuller Owen and the late Gertrude Virginia Nichols Owen and was married to Margaret Conner Owen. Mr. Owen was a retired loom fixer at J.P. Stevens and was a member of Centerville Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Conner Owen of Vernon Hill, VA; three daughters, Teresa Canada of Alton, VA, Christy Kirchoff of Blairs, VA, and Shelia Trent of South Boston, VA; two sons, Randy Roberts of Clarksville, VA and Kenneth McCormick of South Boston, VA; a sister, Levern Hazelwood and husband, Richard of Halifax, VA; two brothers, Simmon Owen and wife, Jean of South Boston, VA and Bill Owen of Halifax, VA; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Marie Roberts; a brother, Lawrence Owen; and four sisters, Carolyn Snow, Mildred Moser, Gracie Douglas, and Marion Owen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Centerville Baptist Church with Rev. Todd McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Centerville Baptist Church on Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 10 AM until 11 AM and at other times at the home.
