Kent Edward Hudson

Mr. Kent Edward Hudson of Buffalo Junction, VA, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the age of 90. Born in Halifax County on June 11, 1932, he was the son of the late Warren and Marian Hudson. He was the husband of 69 years to Flora Powell Hudson.

Kent was a longtime member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. In his younger days, Kent served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong tobacco and cattle farmer, as well as a tobacco barn salesman and member of the Farm Bureau. Kent volunteered for many years at Camp Concord, was a founding member of Vets-On-A-Roll charity organization, and he was well known for the prized gladiolas he grew and gave to friends and family. Kent is further survived by his son, Wendell Hudson (Tammi) of Buffalo Junction, VA; one granddaughter, Felicia Holt (Joshua) of Roxboro, NC; and two great grandchildren, Elijah Holt and Freya Holt, of Roxboro, NC. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Brown and his great grandson, Atticus Holt.

Funeral services for Mr. Hudson will be held at 3 P.M. on Monday, August 8, at Union Chapel Baptist Church with the Reverend Jackie Wray and Josh Brown officiating. The family will receive friends in visitation one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, Kent's family asks that donations be made to the Union Chapel Cemetery Fund.
