Larry Clifton Francisco

NATHALIE, VA Mr. Larry Clifton Francisco of Hunting Creek Road, Nathalie, VA passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at the age of 82. Born in Halifax County on March 15, 1936, he was the son of the late George Morrell Francisco and the late Edith Blackstock Francisco and was married to the late Phyllis Francisco. Larry was a business owner with multiple businesses including Safety Barrades and J & W Builders Construction Company. He lived the majority of his life in Greensboro, NC. and served with the Greensboro Police Reserves.Larry was an avid musician playing acoustic guitar, dobro, mandolin, banjo, harmonica and auto harp. He enjoyed hobbies such as golf, radio controlled planes and growing roses.He was a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge 136, graduate of Halifax County High School and a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church. Larry was deeply devoted to his family. Being the oldest sibling, he cared for his parents and siblings as well as his nieces and nephews. Larry is survived by sisters, Dr. Dale Williams and husband Ray of Nathalie, Lois Womack and husband Ronnie of Vernon Hill; brothers, Jackie Francisco and wife Mary Ann of Halifax, David Francisco and wife Mary of Nathalie, Danny Francisco and wife Leslie of Sutherlin, and Christopher Green and wife, Sheri of Danville who was like a brother to him. Larry also had numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Johnson. Funeral Services will be held at Hunting Creek Baptist Church, 4055 Hunting Creek Road, Nathalie at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 with Reverend Sean McGuire officiating. Interment will follow in Hunting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM and at other times the home of Dale and Ray Williams, 5031 Hunting Creek Road, Nathalie.
