Larry Baynes Horton

Mr. Larry Baynes Horton, Sr. of 5075 Mountain Road, Halifax, VA died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the age of 70. He was born May 21, 1941 to the late James Horton and the late Jessie Walker Horton, and was married to Ann C. Horton. He was a retired employee of the South Boston Public Works Department and was a member of Second Baptist Church, South Boston. Survivors include his wife of the home, three sons Larry B. “Ben” Horton, III and his wife, Marylin of Ogden, UT, Howard B Landrum, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Vernon Hill, VA, and Robert C. Landrum, Sr. And his wife, Cynthia of Danville, VA; daughter, Cynthia Landrum Davis and her husband, Forrest of Vernon Hill, VA; two sisters, Clara H. Morgan of South Boston, VA and Jackie H. Snead of Alton, VA; Thirteen grandchildren; Eliada Horton, Emmahnual Horton, Larry Horton, III, Christopher Whalen, Richard Whalen, John Whalen, Eric Horton, Serenity Horton, Amanda Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Brandon Landrum, Kristin Landrum, and Robert Landrum, Jr.; one great grandchild Serenity Storm Whalen.He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; Christopher Horton; two sisters, Louise H. Roberson and Nellie Perkins; one brother, Buddy Horton . Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Linderman officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, April 2, 2012 at Brooks Funeral Home from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm and at other times at the home, 5075 Mountain Road, Halifax, VA..
