Larry Dean Lloyd

Larry Dean Lloyd of Vernon Hill passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the age of 57.  He was born in Halifax County on April 13, 1966 to the late Herman Hagood Lloyd and the late Josephine Tharpe Lloyd.  He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cindy Wilkes Lloyd.

Larry was employed by VDOT.  He loved old cars & trucks and restoring them. He also loved watching racing and wrestling on the TV and had worked part time at the race track.  A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he will never be forgotten.

In addition to his wife, Cindy, he is survived by a son, Shawn Michael Lloyd and wife, Amanda; sister, Cathy Lloyd Barksdale, and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Samuel Medley and Luke Lloyd; nieces & nephews, Bobby "B.J." Ray Barksdale Jr, Jeremy Barksdale, and wife, Brooke, Skylar Barksdale, Kaylin Barksdale and Nash Barksdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents and maternal grandparents, Emmett & Mittie Tharpe; paternal grandparents, Harvey & Nettie Lloyd and his beloved pet companion, Roscoe.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Halifax Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 6 PM - 8 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
