SOUTH BOSTON Lawrence Wayne Bradshaw of Philpott Road, South Boston, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the age of 85.He was born in Halifax County on October 9, 1936 to the late Numa Reid Bradshaw and the late Grace Pulliam Bradshaw. He is married to Harriett Wilborn Bradshaw. Wayne was a graduate of Halifax County High School. Baseball was always his passion, having played for the South Boston Wrappers in his young adult life.He loved following the Cleveland Indians. He was also a huge UNC-Chapel Hill (Carolina) fan. His work career began as a truck driver with the tobacco market and later became the Vice President of Standard Commercial Tobacco Company in Wilson, NC and Vice President of Souza Cruz and Brazil Sales. Wayne was a die hard Republican and he loved collecting antiques and was an avid reader. He was a member of Alton Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Harriett, he is survived by daughters, Scottie Bradshaw of South Boston and Kelly Bradshaw (Donnie Wilkerson) of Youngsville, NC; granddaughter, Kelsey Webb of Halifax; great grandchildren, Levi Tuck and Gracie Webb; sister, Merle Osborne of Alton; brother, Lloyd Bradshaw (Patricia) of Alton; nieces, Tracey Reaves, Christy Sherrill and their families and many other family and friends. The family wishes to send a special thanks to Isis Woody and Willie Canada, his faithful caretakers. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Black Walnut Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1:00-2:00 PM at Black Walnut Baptist Church. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation, PO Box 519, Halifax, VA 24558 or a charity of your choice.
