Lawrence "Simon Peter" Allen Nunn

Nelson, VA -- Mr. Lawrence Allen Nunn, better known as “Simon Peter”, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the age of 84. Born in Nelson, VA, on April 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Garland and Susanna Frazier Nunn and was married to the late Alline Loftis Nunn. Simon was a lifelong tobacco farmer. In addition to farming, he operated heavy equipment for Gray Walker and Lanco Paving. Simon was a lovable person who never met a stranger. He loved his horses and enjoyed taking Alline out on Sunday buggy rides. Simon is survived by his daughters, Sherry Farrar (Shane) of Nelson and Sharon Harding (Paul) of Franklinton, NC; his cherished grandchildren, Devin Farrar and Carlee Tart; and step-grandchildren, Victoria Harding, Christian Harding, and Michael Harding.Lawrence was predeceased by his sister, Annette Nunn. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on July 6, 2022, in the chapel of Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Rodney Barwick officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and all other times at the residence.
