Lelia Lowery Carlson

Mrs. Lelia Lowery Carlson of 4193 Lowery Rd., Virgilina passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the age of 86. She was born in Semora, NC on August 16, 1923 to the late Annie Rogers & Jasper Thomas Carter. She was married to the late Clarence L. Lowery and the late Bob Carlson. She was a retired weaver at Burlington Ind. and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Mrs. Carlson is survived by a son, Bernice B. Lowery and wife, Patrice of Bassett; two daughters, Darlene Mullins and husband, Bobby of Virgilina and Judith Daniels and husband,Dennis of Richmond; three brothers, Raymond, Wallace, and Arnold Carter; four sisters, Dorothy Rudder, Gwendolyn Hudson, Marie Barker, and Shelby Dean Smith; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clarence L. Lowery, Jr. and Eldridge Carter Lowery; brother, James Edward Carter; sister, Pauline Cole; and one great grandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Carlson will be held on Tuesday, September 15 at 2:30 PM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
