Obituary, Leo James Heile(Author Toby Heile 1-5-2022) Leo James Heile died at his home in Buffalo Junction Virginia December 22, 2021 after a long illness and on the day following his 80th birthday. He had received a COVID booster on December 21. The fourth son of Cyril E. and Mary Carol (McGowan) Heile, Leo was brother to Tim, Toby and Peter Heile, and the late Ken, Don, and Ann Heile. He leaves his former wife Pat (Marsh), care giver Sylvia, children Tim and Lisa and four grandchildren. Born in Cincinnati Ohio December 21, 1941 Leo grew up in West Price Hill Cincinnati Ohio across from Witsken Dairy Farm. He attended St. Teresa Elementary School, St. Xavier High and Xavier University where he majored in the Physics honors program. In a senior course he studied Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity. He went on to receive a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University and did post graduate work at Harvard University. Following college graduation Leo served as an Army Lieutenant, and for a year on the Korean Demilitarized Zone. His career then took him to Westinghouse Corporation and ultimately to ITT Corporation in New York City where he served in information technology executive positions until his retirement. He then settled into a home near Kerr Lake in Buffalo Junction Virginia. During hisyears there he provided financial support to numerous national and local charities, and would visit residents in local nursing homes with his favorite pet service dog Podgie. As an accomplished musician and composer Leo was recipient of an American Song Festival award in 1988 and a Billboard Magazine song festival award in 1990 along with Jubilee award Hollywood Song Competition in 1990. During that time he opened a recording studio in Nashville Tennessee. As hobbies Leo constructed several outbuildings on his property and eventually built a fish camp on nearby property that hosted professional fisherman that would participate in local and national fishing tournament competitions. He would also communicate with his brother Ken almost daily as shortwave radio licensed enthusiasts. Leo James Heile, American information technology executive.
