Lestie Whitlow Talley

Mrs. Lestie Whitlow Talley of 1010 Cemetery Rd., Virgilina, VA died Monday, November 14, 2011 at the age of 86. She was born January 19, 1925 to the late George Thomas Whitlow and the late Carrie Carmichael Whitlow. She was married to the late Abner Oneal Talley, Sr. Mrs. Tally was a retired employee at Burlington Industries, Inc. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Abner Oneal Talley, Jr and wife, Paula of Virgilina, VA; Roger Allen Talley of Virgilina, VA; grandson, Chris Talley & wife, Crystal of Oxford, NC; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Layla Talley. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers James Whitlow, Earl Whitlow, and Theodore Whitlow; and three sisters, Elizabeth Whitlow, Sallie Elliott, and Ottie Comer her twin sister. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. George Gorman officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Brooks Funeral Home, 115 Main Street, South Boston and other times at the home 1010 Cemetery Rd., Virgilina.
