Lewis Carrel Oliver

Buffalo Junction, VA - Lewis Carrel Oliver, Sr., husband of the late Frances Cornelia Brookman Oliver, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the age of 82. He was born in Henrico County on June 25, 1936, to the late Lewis Russell and Audrey Pritchett Oliver. Lewis worked as a furniture and auto upholsterer prior to his retirement. He loved to play the mandolin and was a member of a bluegrass and country session band. He was devoted to God and his church. Mr. Oliver is survived by his son, Lewis C. Oliver, Jr and wife, Theresa, of Clarksville; step-son, Eddie Hester of Mechanicsville, and grandchildren, Lewis Oliver III, Ceslie Oliver and Michelle Priddy. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Denise McGee and siblings, Andrew Oliver, Russel Oliver and Audrey Mae Bowman. Funeral services for Mr. Oliver will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, May 19 in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Sanctuary Mausoleum of Signal Hill Memorial Park on Monday, May 20 at 2 P.M.
