Lillian Morgan Thomas

South Boston, VA –

Lillian Morgan Thomas, wife of the late William James Thomas, Sr., passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, at the age of 96. She was born in Cinderford, England on January 27, 1927, to the late Ralph and Frances Moore Morgan. Lillian retired from J.P. Stevens, where she worked as an inspector. She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed crossword puzzles and flowers. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and her cats. Lillian was a member and full supporter of McCanless United Methodist Church.

Cherishing many fond memories are her daughter, Patricia Thomas Long; son, William J. Thomas, Jr.; grandsons, Woodrow Wilson “Chip” Long, III (Letty), William Keith Thomas, Paul Thomas Long and James Russell Thomas; great grandchildren, Gabby Long and Jackie Long; sisters-in-law, Catherine Thomas and Geneva Snow; brother-in-law, Carl Vance Bebber, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother, Ian John Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 21 in the chapel at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home, 115 Main Street, South Boston, VA, with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The Reverend Daniel Thomas will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning one hour prior to the service.
