Lillie Renn, age 82, went to be with our Lord and Savior, March 17, 2015.She was born in Wilmington, NC on October 5, 1932, the daughter of the late Maxwell D. Hardee and Maggie Gregory Hardee Thompson.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harper Renn, Jr. and her brother, William Ronald Hardee.She is survived by her son, James Harper Renn III, two sisters, Dorothy H. (Robert) Peterson, Greensboro, NC; and Marie H. (Thomas) Preston, Wilmington, NC, one sister-in-law, Barbara S. Hardee, Washington, DC; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lillie graduated from, New Hanover High School and East Carolina University.She taught for many years.Lillie was a member of The Geneva Presbyterian Church, Oxford, NC, and The Lake Country Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:30pm until 4:00pm and the four o’clock funeral service will follow.The service will take place at the Lake Country Baptist Church, 11403 Hwy 15,Clarksville, VA 23927 with Pastor Timothy Bell officiating.Burial will be at the Oakhurst Cemetery, Cemetery Keene Annex, Garden of Prayer, Plot 026, Space A, conducted by Watkins, Cooper, Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA 23927. Lillie’s family wishes to thank Wake Med ICU staff, her faithful friend, Kitty Pettit, her caring Pastor Timothy Bell, Tucker, Mann, and Darrell, for their many hours of love given to our precious loved one.
