VIRGILINA, VA Mrs. Linda Church Saunders went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the age of 79. Born in North Wilkesboro, NC on September 10, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Bethel Church and the late Ethel Mae Brezzle. Linda was married to Larry James Saunders, who survives. Linda was a member of Florence Avenue Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher to the children. God was very important in her life, she loved her church.Her family was also an important part of her life. She was a great cook and loved to dance. Linda was formerly employed with Burlington Industries, JP Stevens and later in Food Service at different locations. In addition to her husband, Larry, she is survived by daughter, Wendy Brooks and husband, Saunders; son, Sammy Wilson and wife, Laura; step sons, Kirby Saunders,Jamie Saunders and wife, Amy; step daughter, Toni Saunders; 11 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; sister, Frances Perkins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cheryl Wilson Deal; son, Douglas Wilson; brothers, Charles Church, Mac Church and Curtis Church; and sister, Dorothy Tedder. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Florence Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the church.The family will receive friends starting on December 26 at the home, 5010 Red Bank Road, Virgilina.
