Lisa Greene Bevell

Lisa Greene Bevell, 60, of Boydton died Saturday, December 25, 2021, after a 19-day battle with Pancreatic cancer at her home with her family at her side. Lisa was born on February 20, 1961 and grew up in Union Level. She was the daughter of the late John H. Greene and Ethel Allyne Brewer Greene. Soon after graduating Peace College, she started her career with the Commonwealth of Virginia, working for the Mecklenburg County Circuit Court system and then retired as district secretary of the Virginia State Police after 30 years of Service. She was a member of Boydton Baptist Church, but most of all she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Surviving is her husband of 40 years, Dane P. Bevell; son, Bryan Bevell, and wife, Sasha, of South Hill; daughter, Heather Kretzschmar, and husband Philipp, of Boydton; brother, Michael Greene, and wife, Bonnie, of Union level and sister, Susan G.Harris and husband, Gary, of Raleigh. Four grandchildren Zach and Eli Bevell, and Addy and Mila Kretzschmar; and brother-in-law Doug Bevell of Wilmington NC. A number of nephews and nieces also survive. Due to Covid and social distancing, a graveside funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Boydton Baptist Church cemetery.
